Robotics Alley ( is in it’s third year as a leading professional conference centered around the robotics industry.  As part of the conference, there is an exhibit area supported by robotics companies.  FIRST will have a booth and demo area to showcase what we do.  In an unprecedented move for a professional conference, Robotics Alley is opening the exhibit hall to students and accompanying mentors free of charge.  The open exhibits time will be Nov 13th

2013 Minnesota Splash

When: Saturday December 7th, 2013. Sessions will go from 8:30am-3:15pm with lunch at 11:25am. 

Cost: $6, lunch provided.

Attire: Your FIRST team shirts or costumes.

Where: University of Minnesota - STSS building (222 Pleasant Street SE Minneapolis, MN)

What: The Third Annual Mock Kickoff.

When: Saturday November 16th, 2013. Sessions will go from 10:30am-3:15pm with lunch at 11:30am.

Cost: $6 per attendee, lunch provided.  Attire: Your FIRST team shirts or costumes.

Minnesota FRC and FTC Teams:  PTC is hosting a free Hands-on Workshop!

When:   Saturday, November 2nd  from 9:00 am - 4:00 pm

             Please park in Visitor Parking in front of school.

             Use Main Entrance and there will be signs directing participants to classroom.

Team Leaders, here are some important fall activities:

Fall competitions are a fun way to say goodbye to last season’s robot and a great way to introduce new team members to all aspects of a FIRST competition.  There are two events that use a full competition field setup just like a FIRST-run regional.  Please watch the regional website ( under “Off Season Events” and “Training” categories for updated info.

GO FIRST Summer Training Announced

GO FIRST, the FIRST alumni organization at the University of Minnesota, is hosting its Second Annual Summer Robotics Summit. Saturday July 27th, 2013 on the U of MN campus, STSS Building (222 Pleasant Street SE, Minneapolis, 55455). Sessions will start at 10:00am and go to 4:00pm with lunch at Noon. Cost is $6 per attendee, lunch provided.  Please wear your FIRST team shirts or costumes!

Team Leaders, I know that I don'’t have to tell you but everyone is invited to the MSHSL/FIRST State Championship. There is no admission fee and we’'d love to pack Williams Arena.  The abbreviated agenda for Saturday is:

8:30am - Opening Ceremonies

8:45am - 12:30pm - matches

12:30pm - 1:30pm - lunch break

1:30pm - 2:45pm - matches

2:45pm - 3:00pm - alliance selection (top 4 teams)

3:15pm- 4:30pm - playoffs (semi's and final)

4:30 - awards

Email Blast May 3 2013 MSHSL/FIRST State Championship event info

Team Leaders, congratulations on qualifying for the MSHSL/FIRST State Championship.  Here are a few details to help with your planning.

1) Between your last FIRST event and the MSHSL championship, you are allowed to work on your robot for a total of 8 hours with a 2-hour minimum per work session.  You must bag your robot between work sessions.  Using normal zip ties to secure your bag is OK but you must log your activity (including outreach).  The robot must come to the event in its bag and be accompanied by the lock-up log.
